Do I have ADHD?

These are the patterns people describe when they come to us. If several of these feel accurate, an evaluation is a reasonable next step.

You can't start tasks even when you know exactly what needs to get done. The gap between knowing and doing feels impossible to cross.

You hyperfocus on things that interest you for hours, but the moment something bores you, your attention disappears entirely.

Your brain won't slow down. Conversations go sideways, you lose your train of thought mid-sentence, and sleep doesn't come easily.

You've tried every organization system out there. They work for two weeks, then fall apart and you blame yourself every time.

You've been treated for anxiety or depression for years. It helped some, but there's always been something the treatment didn't reach.

You function better under pressure and deadlines, but the relief never lasts — the cycle of crisis and crash is exhausting.

These aren't character flaws. They're symptoms, and they're treatable.

Why ADHD goes undiagnosed

Why do so many adults find out this late?

Most people who come to us have been managing on their own for years. There are a handful of reasons ADHD gets missed, and most of them have nothing to do with the person who has it.

01 — Inattentive type

It doesn't always look like what people picture

The hyperactive kid bouncing off walls got most of the attention. The inattentive type is harder to see. You drift in conversations, lose track of tasks, start things you can't finish, and feel perpetually behind. None of that disrupts a classroom or a meeting, so it goes unnoticed for a long time.

02 — Mistaken for anxiety

The symptoms overlap with a lot of other things

A restless, racing mind looks like anxiety. Forgetting things and falling behind looks like depression. Emotional swings look like a mood disorder. These conditions genuinely do travel with ADHD, which makes the picture complicated. But treating only the anxiety and ignoring the ADHD underneath means the treatment only goes so far.

03 — Coping hides it

High-functioning doesn't mean it isn't there

A lot of people with undiagnosed ADHD are genuinely good at their jobs and hold their lives together by working twice as hard as they have to. The effort is invisible from the outside, so they get labeled capable and never looked at more closely. The cost shows up in exhaustion, chronic overwhelm, and the feeling that everyone else finds this easier than they do.

04 — Adult diagnosis

Finding out as an adult changes things

The old diagnostic criteria were built around children, so adults who made it through school without a flag rarely got looked at. Many people don't find out until their 30s, 40s, or later. Sometimes a child's diagnosis is what prompts a parent to get evaluated. At whatever point it happens, a clear diagnosis opens up treatment options that weren't on the table before.

What does ADHD treatment actually involve?

From a first evaluation to ongoing care, here's what we provide.

ADHD evaluation and testing

A thorough assessment using validated tools and a clinical interview. You'll leave with a clear diagnosis and a written report, not a checklist and a guess.

Medication management

Ongoing prescribing and monitoring from a licensed provider who knows ADHD medication well, adjusts as your needs change, and keeps your full health picture in view.

Anxiety and depression care

ADHD frequently comes with anxiety or depression. We assess and treat both, because addressing one while ignoring the other tends to produce incomplete results.

Ongoing treatment and follow-up

ADHD is a long-term condition, and treatment changes over time. We stay involved, adjust the plan as your life shifts, and remain reachable between appointments.

How it works

Getting started is simple

From your first call to follow-ups, you'll always know what's next. No referral, no runaround.

  1. 01

    Grab a time

Book online or give us a call. No referral needed, and we've usually got same-week and weekend spots open.

  2. 02

    Meet your provider

You'll sit down with a licensed provider for a full evaluation that's tuned to how ADD symptoms present.

  3. 03

    Get a clear answer

We go through what we found together, in plain English. For a lot of people, this is the part where it all comes together.

  4. 04

    Start your plan

We build a plan around your goals and talk through every option, medication included, so you know the benefits and the trade-offs going in.

  5. 05

    Check in and adjust

We keep tabs on how it's going and tweak things as your life, your symptoms, and yes, your hormones change.

When it all comes together

The part where it gets easier.

Once you've got the right diagnosis and a plan that fits, things start to loosen up. Not a turbo-charged, hyper-productive you. Just more room to breathe and more energy for the stuff you care about.

  • Finishing what you start, without beating yourself up about it.

  • Focus you can point where you want, not just when a deadline is on fire.

  • A calmer head, with fewer mental tabs open at once.

  • Energy left over, because you're not spending it all on keeping up.

  • Trusting yourself again, instead of wondering what's wrong with you.

The stuff people ask

Questions we get a lot

The things people ask us most before booking. If yours isn't here, just call.

Can I be diagnosed with ADD as an adult?

Yes, and it happens all the time. Plenty of people don't find out until their 30s, 40s, or later — often after years of being told it was something else. Getting answers later in life isn't a setback. For most people it's a huge relief.

I was told before I don't have ADD. Should I get checked again?

It might be worth a second look. Older evaluations often leaned on criteria built around hyperactive children, so they missed the calmer, more inattentive presentation that's common in adults. A fresh assessment using current tools can give you a much clearer picture.

Will ADD treatment mess with my anxiety or depression meds?

That's something we look at carefully. Your provider goes over everything you're taking and your full health history before suggesting anything, and we treat ADD right alongside any anxiety or depression instead of in a silo.

Do I need a referral?

Nope. You can book straight with us — no referral needed — and we usually have same-week and weekend openings.

What does the evaluation actually involve?

Our evaluations use gold-standard assessment tools — clinical interviews, standardized rating scales, and a review of your history across different settings. It's thorough enough to give you real answers, and we walk you through everything we found before you leave.

Does telehealth work as well as coming in?

For lots of people, yes. We offer both in-person and secure online visits across Idaho, so you can pick whatever fits your schedule and switch whenever you want.

What happens at the first visit?

You'll meet a licensed provider who listens to your story and starts a full evaluation. From there we go over what we found, answer your questions, and map out a plan together. No rushing.

How much does it cost, and do you take insurance?

New patients get $150 off the first visit, and we take a number of major insurers. For the specifics on coverage or payment plans, give us a call at (208) 408-2989 and we'll walk you through it.

Still wondering about something? Call us at (208) 408-2989, or book an appointment and we'll reach out.
